The Ohio River is the third largest river in the USA starting at Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and flowing west to the Mississippi River. This package of 60 bridges covers the central section of 450 miles (725 km) between Pittsburgh and Cincinnati, both of which have been covered in separate packages. The Ohio River was a gateway to the west and allowed transportation of goods by barge from the east to the Mississippi and to New Orleans.
