The Azores (Açores) are an archipelago and popular holiday destination in the mid-Atlantic which are home to dramatic landscapes, fishing villages and green countryside. The Azores are made up of 9 main islands with the largest city being Ponta Delgada on the island of São Miguel which is also home to some large volcanic lakes and a large commercial port.
